If you are expecting a modernized fish aquaria which you can spend at least 30 minutes inside looking at the fish in Putra Permai, I’m sorry to say that you could be disappointed. So far, I have noticed that there are only 4 fish shops in Putra Permai as listed below. They are traditional type of aquaria with standard supplies like aquarium, fishing rod, small fish for feeding, shrimp, cricket, tropical fish…

If so happen that I have missed out any, please do me a favor by letting me know.

A. Ammar Aquarium & Pet Shop

Location: Opposite Putra Walk (refer to location map)
Description: You are always welcome by the Malay owner who is kind enough to share with you the knowledge about fish rearing and fishing. It has the most complete fishing equipment available among four of them.

B. Hikari Fish & Pets Supplies

Location: Behind Ammar Aquarium & Pet Shop (refer to location map)
Description: Their fish is living in the cleanest aquarium Besides, there are more variety of fish too. Open only in the evening, until 10.30 – 11 pm. If you are out of anti-chlorine while replacing the aquarium water, and only realize it after 10pm. I guess this is your only option.

C. Forest Freshwater Fish

Location: Beside Putra Permai Police Station (refer to location map)
Description: The owner told me a few time that he is very particular in the fish quality. He is a fish supplier who has a great knowledge about fish. Any way, he is busy with his supplying business. Therefore, the opening hour of the shop is not fixed. You may try your luck.

D. Fish Love Enterprise

Location: Opposite Drive Through KFC (refer to location map)
Description: Despite the less strategic location, Fish Love Enterprise has its loyal visitors. If you feed your fish with small fish or frog, you can get it here. They have the normal small fish, red color small fish, ‘ikan bilis‘ and also the ‘longkang fish‘. The Indon kakak always give you more when you try to be friendly
